On May 18th 2022, the “Gobi Natural History Museum” was opened in Dalandzadgad City, Umnugovi Province. The museum was built with MNT10.9 billion from the Gobi Oyu Development Support Fund and it has a collection of more than 4,000 exhibits and artefacts in its halls with world-class designs and equipment. There are also ancient and paleontological findings from the Tsakhiurt Valley, Otson Maanit, Bayanzag, Chono Shurguul, and Tugrugiin Shiree that proved human civilization in Umnugovi aimag 4,500-5,000 years ago and works samples of the blacksmiths and artisans.
You can also see ornaments, utensils, religious items, idols, and musical instruments from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages in addition to the unique blacksmith silverwares of the Noyon Sevrei (one of the nine wonders of Umnugovi aimag). Museum also gives an opportunity to explore ancient jewelry, vessels, religious artifacts, Buddha paintings, and musical instruments that meet international standards.
